Wednesday 21st November 2012

If any of you follow me on Twitter you will know that today was my 17th Birthday!
As I'm sure many of you are aware the older you get the less excited you get. I don't know is just me but I feel like they have less and less meaning to them as time goes by.

However, I still love the whole birthday idea and I love getting tweets of people and messages off friends wishing me happy birthday because for that one day you feel special and valued.

I know 17 isn't a massive mile stone however the one thing that is really exciting for me is the fact that I can start driving! I mean lets be honest I think it is the one thing that everyone looks forward to in their life (not to mention the fact that I'm getting my car this weekend)

Anyway, I will be back to doing a full blog post very soon. I just wanted to get a short and sweet one up on my birthday!

Also, look out for my "Christmas" Blog Post on TheSophieLovesYou22's blog and also my "2012: My Year" blog post coming on New Years Eve!

As usual all of the links you will ever need are in the contact me section of my blog!

Jack Wills

Many of you will have heard of the British clothing brand 'Jack Wills'. Now I've known about Jack Wills since about 2008 and have loved their clothes up until about eighteen months ago when they went global and every Tom, Dick and Harry owned an infamous Jack Wills hoodie.

Now this post is not intended to portray Jack Wills in a bad light however, I think that they have lost their 'elite' cliental since they've opened more stores and extended their sale periods. Personally, Jack Wills' clothing quality has never really been 'great' however, I did not mind paying their prices for clothing that I knew not many people had. However, in the past two years so many people have jumped on the band wagon that it's almost about to break because let's face it as soon as a certain amount of people have it the 'hipsters' and 'indie' people will stop buying it then everyone else will gradually move to another brand and Jack Wills will be back to where it started.

Over the years I have supported Jack Wills and purchased a vast amount of their clothing for numerous reasons that span from the fact that I liked to it me just wanting 'that jumper'. However, these days I'm trying to steer clear of Jack Wills just because I don't want to look like everyone else, I don't want to have paid sixty pounds for a hoodie that I twenty people wearing in the same day and I certainly do not want to be classed as a 'fashion sheep'. On the other hand, I do still wear Jack Wills clothing from time to time however, the only time it ever makes an appearance is when I go to the Jack Wills Polo or when I'm dressing for a day at sixth form (I have to wear a suit).

Another thing that really gets on my nerves is the fact that their product portfolio has extended so much over the past two years that they simply have no where to put them in the stores so they end up putting them in the changing rooms! Like the old saying goes "too many cooks spoil the broth" in Jack Wills' case "too many products spoil your brand and reputation"

Let's be honest though, people will forever be buying Jack Wills and supporting them however, I feel that everyone has a Jack Wills phase and as soon as you're out of it you pretty much forget it ever existed!

That's my post for today, I hope you're all doing amazingly well.

The 'First Post'

When starting a new blog I suppose the first thing you worry about is your first 'blog post'. When I made a blog, surprisingly, the first thing I thought about was if I could change my background or not because many people had told me that blogspot's backgrounds were not great. Anyway, you've probably found my blog (somehow) and you're probably wanting to know what this blog is about and what you can expect content wise.

Well even though this blog is called 'Mills Style' (No, this blog is not named after Gangnam Style). Moving on, you can expect anything and everything from this blog for example one day I could be talking about my favourite fashion stores whereas another day I could be asking for your opinion on a certain food. So if you're anything like me and you love the unexpected then checking my page every so often might not be a bad thing for you!
